Haltcliffe Limousin was re-established in 2001 and 2002 with trips to France and trips around the UK to carefully select the best possibly Limousin female, only female from the top family’s in the top herds where purchased. A lorry load of heifers came from France in Jan 2002, they came from the renowned Herds of Gaec Alrivie, Gaec Bourbouloux, Scea Bournazel, Jacky Chateil, Earl Camus-Huberson, Pierre Gardette, E Laleu, Serge Lajudie, Daniel Peyrot, and Emmanuel Zerger. Cattle also came from the Allanfauld and Brontemoor herds, the Cloughhead and Hazelhead Herds, and the Ronick and Winnington herds in the UK. Pictures of Sympa Limousin Bull and Sons below

Also on the lorry from France was a young Limousin bull calf, his name was SYMPA and he has proved to be a real star, His sire is the Haricot son OCTOPUS and his dam is the Genial dauterger OPERETTE from Germain Souton, Operette is the best cow I have ever seen in France and Mr Souton had to say no many many times to prevent OPERETTE from being on the lorry with SYMPA. The first calves of the new herd where born from Jan to May 2003 and what a great crop of calves they included HALTCLIFFE UPPERITY Junior Champion and Reserve Overall Female Champion ILC Show 2004 at only 18 months old, HALTCLIFFE ULLSWATER sold Carlisle may 2004 43,000gns at the same sale HALTCLIFFE UMPIRE and UNDERWRITER made 18,000 and 10,000 gns and in Oct 2004 HATLCLIFFE ULEX and UNDERSTUDY made 9500 and 10,500 gns.
